Jwalant having gained professional experience at Mozaic Design in Goa and Mistry Architects in Bangalore he went on to pursue masters in Architecture and Urbanism at the AA (Architectural Association), London in the Design Research Laboratory. Jwalant furthered his professional experience at Zaha Hadid Architects in London for the next 4 years working on various prestigious projects including the Petroleum Research Institute in Suadi Arabia from the stage of conception/competition to construction as well as an unique opportunity to solely manage and design a sculpture for a private art collector in Chicago.

Since the inception of andblack design studio in 2011 he has been responsible for bringing in projects like Eco-Tourism Camp Site in Kevdi, Surat District, Paper Tube Pavilion in Delhi, Wood Canopy in Pune along with a few residences in Surat and Ahmedabad. Alongside professional work, Jwalant also runs a design studio on ‘Generative processes in Design’ with masters students at the School of Interior Design in CEPT University, Ahmedabad.

His main passion lies in the quest of the design process. He likes to experiment, prototype and develop systems that can form good design solutions. His rigour for 'design of space' as opposed to 'design of place' is what sets him apart from others. The overflowing creative juices and over energetic approach toward every project is a must for him. Apart from Architecture, art photography and travelling the world is what keeps him going.
