Architecture that does not assert dominance but instead assimilates, blurring the threshold between built and natural landscapes.

Constructed from reclaimed wood and marine plywood, the screen is a study in material hierarchy. The primary framework in marine ply establishes structural stability, while an array of wooden shingles generates a fluid, double-curved surface. The tonal irregularities of salvaged wood introduce a layer of organic variation, reinforcing its dialogue with the landscape.
The tectonics of the screen prioritize non-intrusive joinery. Wood-to-wood and wood-to-plywood connections rely on wooden pins, minimizing reliance on extraneous materials. The only visible metal components—custom stainless steel connectors—serve as essential junctions where the screen meets the ground and adjacent walls. This deliberate reduction emphasizes cohesion between material and method.
From one approach, the screen presents as a dense, near-monolithic volume; from another, it fractures into a porous wooden veil. This calibrated opacity activates shifting spatial conditions, challenging static readings of enclosure. Over time, the natural aging of the wood reinforces its intent—an architecture that evolves, integrating deeper into its environment rather than resisting it.
